Since becoming a recognised Registered Centre with the CMI in August 2021, Praestamus has worked alongside Ian Harris at Train Visual to develop a new and groundbreaking Instructional Coaching course accredited at Level 5.
Between October 21 and February 2022, the course will be delivered to approximately 50 staff at five colleges in the North East including: John Leggott College (Scunthorpe), Newcastle 6th Form College, Newcastle College, Middlesbrough 6th Form College and Middlesbrough College.
The course, (4 days spread over 2 – 3 months) is delivered through a combination of remote and face to face learning and aims to develop tutor supervisors’ coaching skills in the context of the HOW2 Instructional Coaching Model. On completion of the 4 days of training, participants continue their learning through a combination of self-paced learning and reflection, coaching practise, group tutorials and coaching supervision sessions. After this, participants must successfully complete and submit an essay to gain the CMI Level 5 Management of Coaching and Mentoring Award. At this point participants may elect to continue their study towards the Level 5 Certificate by completing an additional two Level 5 modules.
